About
For many people the huge Chaos Computer Club events, such as the congress, are fascinating and interesting, but these events can also be very overwhelming.
The Chaos Computer Club wants to be a space for people of all walks of life, independent of colour, sex, gender identity, age or disabilities.
The Chaosmentors programme was founded to help people to attend an event such as the congress for the first time, where they might feel lost, overwhelmed or outright afraid, because they don't know where to begin or that they might feel they "do not fit in".
To achieve that goal, the programme assigns a group of attendees (known as mentees) to a veteran congress attendee (known as a mentor). This assignment is done by asking both groups about their interests, and assign matching mentees to a mentor. The mentor will welcome the mentee before the event, help them pick interesting talks and be a available to the mentees questions.
Chaosmentors also provide an assembly, that can be used as a "headquarters" for mentees, giving opportunity to meet new people.
The success of this programme brings the need for a tool, that will allow the management of communication between the organisers and the participants.
