Educational Materials at at GitHub and ZenHub - cdisc-org/hub GitHub Wiki

Intro

Getting started with a new set of tools can be intimidating. Take a breath and dive in. But where to start?

The training materials available at ZenHub are a great place to turn to learn the features of ZenHub. If you want to learn how other people are using ZenHub, use Google! You'll find videos and articles all around the web.

Similarly, GitHub has its own set of very thorough training documents.

Getting comfortable with GitHub and ZenHub

Be Thoughtful

It can be very easy to assume that if someone is writing a training article then they must know how you should use GitHub/ZenHub. That CAN be true, but it is not NECESSARILY true. There will be no one best practice for using GitHub/ZenHub. The CORE team and the DDF team both use them successfully but they do things very differently. Their ZenHub boards do not have the same columns. They don't take advantage of the same features in GitHub/ZenHub. And yet they are both being successful at using GitHub/ZenHub.

Be Consistent

The best teacher on your project will be time and experience. Use all the educational materials out there to learn the tools. And then take from the tools those features that will help you be successful.

Be Curious

Lastly, spend time talking to those within the GitHub/ZenHub CoP. Ask questions. Browse this wiki. Experiment! If you're using Scrum take time during the Retrospective to discuss what you're learning about the tools.

Keep coming back to check this wiki. We want it to grow with the influence of the CoP members. Therefore, please come back and write a page for the Wiki explaining what you've learned about using GitHub and ZenHub. We are all in this together!
