Basically a cheap knockoff of DnD. This game is played at the LGS. Sometimes the kids at the LGS play this at the Tavern. Other NPCs at the Tavern may have seen them.
The way this differs from actual DnD is the meta game: players can convince the kids that they're allowed to do anything they want using CHA rolls. So they're basically using the DnD game mechanics to play the sub-DnD game. Not entirely sure how funny this will be to the players.
Whomever is running the game (presumably Monty) can use voices for DM'ing and NPCs. It would be really funny to have their otherwise wimpy/nerdy voice replaced with something totally normal for these occasions.
Since DnD takes place in the distant past, CnC does too. Players will play cavemen/women and the monsters will mostly be dinosaurs.
Differences from typical DnD sessions:
- Players will roll D6 instead of D20 for all checks
- Monsters are super weak, and the game should move lighting-fast
- INT rolls should be hilariously low for the players since they all have low INT
The classes they can pick from are:
- Warrior: Has high strength, and a stone axe with can do high amounts of damage
- Hunter: Uses a spear and arrows with long-range, medium-damage attacks
- Gatherer: Uses a walking stick with low-damage attacks, has low strength, but can carry a lot of stuff to support the team
- Mammoth Whisperer: Can influence the will of one or more mammoths with the serene sound of their soothing words
- Shaman: Can use random items to build ritualistic trinkets to transform into a half-human beast, and may be useful that way
The attributes they all have are:
- Players can work alongside herbivores, but must fight against the carnivores
- Players must speak in mono-syllabic words. They can form sentences
- Everyone has a bone through their hair and a leopard loin cloth of some sort
- They all have extremely low intelligence, and make d6 INT rolls with disadvantage, and with -3 modifiers
- Players have teeth instead of gold/GP, and can remove their own teeth to increase their funds
- If it comes up: you're all cannibals
A T-Rex has stolen the Caveprincess, and they players need to get her back. They will have to travel through the local tar pit, ascend a volcano, and enter the T-Rex lair to find and free the princess.
Important
All maps should be gridless to speed up this mini quest
- Players must cross the sticky, bubbling tar pits
- While passing by the pits, two undead dinosaur skeleton monsters will pop up and attack
- They only appear halfway out of the tar, and are otherwise immobile
- They can throw tar onto players to slow them down, but try not to slow down the game too much
- Players can escape the area and will not be pursued by the monsters here
- Same map as tar pits, but with lava
- While passing through this area, players will be swooped by fire-breathing pterodactyls
- Players can escape the area and will not be pursued by the monsters here
- Players will meet the T-Rex here
- The Caveprincess is locked up behind the T-Rex
- Players can focus on taking down the T-Rex, or saving the princess
- Remember that INT rolls should be utterly low for the players since they're cave-people
- If the players manage to defeat the T-Rex, the rescue the Caveprincess and win the game!
- The LGS kids can argue about who gets to marry her
- unlocks the basement door leading to the LGS Basement quest
- Given to the players by the LGS kids
