Use cases

TIM's primary use case is building audio/video indexes for OHMS Viewer and Aviary displays by creating and editing OHMS.xml files.

TIM functions as a general workspace for post-facto a/v indexing for long-form recordings:

• Zoom calls
• Conference proceedings
• Lectures, symposia, presentations
• Livestreams...

Existing experimental use cases include:

• WebVTT file creator
• ASR transcript editor
• Live notetaking

Timecoded notes for live calls

• Use TIM to take timecoded notes during a live, recorded event.
• Load the following 3-hour count-up timer video into the media player: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62cQan4o_Vc
• Synchronize the timer by playing it when the recording begins (or close to it).
• Mark timecodes and take notes during the live call.
• Replace the YouTube placeholder timer file from above in TIM with the recorded call file, continue refining the index.
