1.What is the BIOS?
its the program a computer cpu uses to start the computer systems after it is powered on, it also manages data flow between the computer's operating system and attached device, susch as the hard disk, video adapter, keyboard, mouse and printer.
2.Use analogies from your previous background to explain what happens during the booting process? During the boot process, the system tests the hardware, loads and runs the operating system, and configures devices.
3.What is the “Power On Self Test”?
its an operation initiated by a computer after its has been turned on but before its boot up the operating system by running a diagnostic testing sequence to determine if the computer's essential hardware is working properly.
4.What is the CMOS? the small amount of memory on a computer motherboard that stores the BIOS settings. Some of these BIOS settings include the system time and date, as well as hardware settings.
- What is the CMOS battery? A CMOS battery is a small, coin-shaped battery that helps to keep the date and time accurate on your computer. It also stores other settings that need to be remembered when the computer is turned off
