CS 498R is a special class where students submit an idea for a semester long project related to computer science that they will work on with the aid of an advisor in the CS Department. If a project is approved, the student will work on that project throughout the semester and present some kind of deliverable at the end to prove the work was done in order to receive a grade.
Workload
Needs to match the number of hours in a typical 1.0-3.0 hour class (depending on how many you choose this class to count for).
Learning Outcomes
Literally whatever you want. As long as it has to do with computer science. Go crazy.
Homework
Only the homework you give yourself.
Projects
The semester long project that you decide to do.
Tests
Why would you give yourself tests? Who do you think you are, Hermione Granger?
