Phase 1: Automated Remote Testing
Determine whether users recognize images as links and click on them when trying to access relevant information using low fidelity prototypes and a large sample. "Optimal Workshop" will be used for the test. A simple scenario will be presented to participants and heat maps of click locations will be analysed.
Phase 2: Moderated Testing with Think Aloud Protocol
Confirm the results of Phase 1 with greater experimental control and further investigate any problem cases and/or unexpected findings of Phase 1. Think Aloud Protocol will be used to attempt to access users thought process and will allow for answering "why" questions which cannot be answered in Phase 1.
