5. Evaluation of Tools and Processes

5.1. Diagrams

For class diagrams, we utilized draw.io due to its built-in objects, simplifying the design process. Its collaborative functionality allowed team members to work simultaneously in a single project, enhancing efficiency. (To be filled by sequence and use case diagram assignees)

5.2. Communication Mediums

We initially set up a dedicated Discord group for communication and meetings, with a secondary WhatsApp group. Following Discord's restriction, we shifted to WhatsApp Communities to organize specialized work groups, maintaining communication under one umbrella. Meetings were conducted on Google Meet afterward.

5.3. Project Planning

GitHub Project and its roadmap feature were utilized for task tracking, allowing us to link issues directly and organize them chronologically. This functionality provided clear visibility of our progress and guided our scheduling.

5.4. Backend

We selected Spring Boot for its reliability and extensive library support for tasks like authorization and resource organization, making it an ideal backend framework for our project’s requirements.

5.5. Database

PostgreSQL was chosen due to its seamless integration with Spring Boot, offering robust ACID compliance and support for complex queries. Its extensive community support and indexing capabilities were advantageous for our relational database needs.
