Info about myself:

I am Beyza Akçınar, a member of the Group #3 for the course CMPE 352. To find out more about me, you can visit this page.

Responsibilities:

  • I have been assigned to create an About me page on Wiki and fill the page with relevant information. See the relevant page and the issue #1.
  • I have been assigned to provide some information and my comments about a repository chosen to my liking on the Research page on Wiki. See the relevant page and the issue #1.
  • I have been assigned to participate in the requirements discussion phase. See the relevant issue #7.
  • I have been assigned to participate in the mock-ups discussion phase. See the relevant issue #10.
  • I have been assigned to revise and merge all of the mock-up drafts created by other members to a one organized and consistent version in terms of design and content. See the relevant page and the issue #24.
  • I have been assigned to revise all the mock-up pages again and add example polls and user information to each page. See the relevant page and the issue #28.
  • I have been assigned to create and add "Homepage (filtered by settled polls)" and "Moderator's view of the pending requests" pages to the mock-ups page on Wiki. See the relevant page and the issue #28.
  • I have been assigned to revise the software requirements in terms of grammatical errors and typos that might cause ambiguity. I also updated the requirements according to the latest status of the project in order to prevent any inconsistencies with the other parts of the project. See the relevant page and the issue #32.
  • I have been assigned to design and draw the UML Sequence Diagrams on an online drawing tool with my teammates Faruk Yıldırım, Muhammet Batuhan İlhan, and Batuhan Çetin. I was mainly responsible for the sequence diagrams of the cases "Like a poll", "Like a comment", and "Make comment on a poll". See the relevant page and issue #34.

Main Contributions:

  • Overall, I took an active role in the project.
  • I have fully attended to all of the lectures, problem sessions and team meetings. For the lectures and problem sessions, I took notes for the parts we need to develop in our project and mentioned them in our meetings so that our team would not miss any important detail.
  • I played a significant role in the mock-up phase. I took an initiative and created a mock-up template for our group before our weekly meeting using an online drawing tool. As a result of my action, our meeting went a lot smoother than it would have gone otherwise. In addition, even though we assigned the task of drawing different pages to different members, with the help of the template I provided, we ended up with drafts of similar style and merging them to one whole mock-up became a lot easier.
  • After the members finished creating all the mock-up drafts, I revised and merged all of them to a one organized and consistent version in terms of design and content.
  • Together with my teammates Faruk Yıldırım, Muhammet Batuhan İlhan, and Batuhan Çetin, I have created the UML Sequence Diagrams of the project.
  • Together with other team members, I have created the Responsibility Assignment Matrix.

Management related significant issues:

  • I provided a mock-up template for our team and added all of our members to a team on an online drawing tool which enables collabrative editing while creating designs. We progressed on this platform for our mock-up creation and revision phases.
  • I have fully attended to all of the lectures, problem sessions and team meetings. For the lectures and problem sessions, I took notes for the crucial parts that we might have passed by and repeatedly brought them up in our meetings so that our team would not miss any important detail.
  • After having weekly meetings online for the first couple of weeks, we realized that it is relatively inefficient and decided to switch to face-to-face meetings. Since I was having trouble participating in online discussions, I took an active role on this decision which increased our work performance and efficiency by a significant amount.
