Customer Meeting #1 Notes - bounswe/bounswe2022group1 GitHub Wiki
Q1) Is there any website you would like us to follow?
We do not want it to be similar to existing platforms. We want to create our own features. You can search for the existing ones and analyze the pros&cons.
Q2) There will be no grading but will there be something to rank students according to their achievements?
There can be badges like “The student has completed the course”, instead of grading. However, you can add additional features as you wish. You can grade them as Pass/Fail or give them certifications.
Q3) How many feedback tags should be there like “perfect” “bad” “really bad” … for the teacher to be graded by the students.
There can be feedbacks like “Instructor was helpful/not”. We want to avoid tags like “perfect” “bad” “really bad”. It can be a rating from 1-5.
Q4) While recommending according to the learning experience, what are things that should take into account for better recommendation. How is it measured?
Recommendation is a complex feature, I will not answer this right now. This is a ‘how’ question.
Q5) What should be an activation system for the user for example, e-mail, identity number, facebook account etc.
As many as you wish. There shall be unique id, e-mail, password, social media. You do not need identity number for the user, you can have it in the back-end. You can have social media too, but the students who wanted to implement this feature but couldnt did not get any - points.
Q6) If a student forgets its password, to which things that password should be sent. For example, e-mail, identity number etc.
E-mail is sufficient, do not make it more complicated.
Q7) Should a user be able to delete its account?
There is a delete option for user(this button is actually to make it hidden), but you keep the information in the background. You need to look at the KVKK information.
Q8) Should a user be able to change its password?
Yes.
Q9) Will there be premium users?
No. We are equitable.
Q10) What exactly is referred by a ‘learning experience’? In which ways is it going to differ from conventional course-type systems?
Instead of ‘there will be class at this day’, ‘you will earn a certificate’ etc. there is a desire to learn. It can be anything like ‘Sailing 101’, or ‘Kayaking 102’. It is a learning activity which can be individual, or arranged by your instructor (with a group, or individual). Rather than a simple seminar; it is a learning system that is online, flexible, customizable, not-fixed, on any topic. The main idea here is this system is not fixed, everyone can learn with a way how they wish. This system is open to every method.
Q11) What kind of subscriptions are there going to be for learners? Is it going to be a all-in-one subscription or for a single course/material?
We do not want a paid subscription or different kind of subscriptions. But it can be something like social media where the user can see the course concent in the main page. There can be tags/topics to follow which will be used for recommendations.
Q12) What does connecting notes mean?
The notes taken by students are collected a shared page(like this page).
Q13) Tagging a note will result in what? I mean what is its purpose?
For students to find what they search.
Q14) What should be seen in the monitoring system of the student?
For example in Moodle, you can see the titles one after the other. It is something like the student should be able to see the percentage of reviewed material, watched videos, attendances and participated quizzes etc. One of the most important feature of our platform will be this progress monitoring.
Q15) What kind of interests and knowledge should be there? For example, math, science, football etc.
In the beginning they will be able to add some fixed number of interests like default subjects(math, football etc.).
Q16) Is the platform going to support synchronous learning (live lectures)?
We do not want an internal support for a meeting, but it can be in the form of sharing the meeting link (Zoom, GoogleMeet etc.)
Q18) How will the interaction differ in the android app?
We hope, not much. The process inside of the buttons or some features should be the same. However, the design of the buttons or other things does not need to be same. They can be similar.
Q19) With users having a profile, how should we handle privacy related issues? Is there any way to open a closed account, or block other users from interacting with one’s profile for example?
We want blocking feature, definitely. User should be able to choose the privacy, open or close the account too.(private or public)
Q20) What kind of recommendations exactly? Do you mean recommending future courses that the user can follow, or course specific recommendations that benefit users in their learning progress?
Recommendation is a topic for future.
Q21) In the lack of grading schema, which motivates students to learn, how do we keep the students engaged in the courses? Which methods (like allowing users to publish their achievements on social media) can we utilise?
Student can show the achievements in his/her profile. I cannot say no to social media feature if you are able to do it.
Q22) Will there be an option to download the course content and follow it offline in the android app?
No, we did not think something like that.
Q23) Can notes be deleted? If they can be deleted, will there be trash or will it just be deleted forever?
You can hide them and make it unreachable for the user, in the way it is done usually
Q24) How should recommendations be made in the beginning? Will they be related to popular things or information on the user’s profile?.
This is a how question, I will not answer it.
Q25) Should we charge students or teachers? If yes, what is the price?
No charging.
Q26) Should we use a milestone system to keep track and reward students or teachers for completing certain goals?
Milestone should be added. TA will ask for whether or not the milestones are needed for teachers.
Q27) Should we make a premium subscription technology for extra advantages such as plug-in?
Nope.
Q28) What documents/fields should a teacher must provide at the beginning, when s/he offers a course?
They can even create a black page.
Q29) Can the notes be exported/imported?
That would be complicated, you can suspend it for now. There can be some hyperlinks, or download links but the download link can be difficult for us, for now do not try.
Q30) Will the poll results be published automatically, or is it the teacher who decides to publish?
It is dependent to the teacher/lecturer.
