Annotation Scenarios

Adding the Missing Information

Akif loves to travel and he always takes photos and notes about the places he went. He wanted to share some information about a iron & steel factory he visited in Sivas but he could not remember the name of the first operators name. So he writes a memory post about the factory and he leaves a question indicating that he could'nt remember nor found the first managers name.

The iron factory ERMADEN started to work at 1938. (Couldn't remember the first managers name?) There is a huge train station passing near the factory so that the materaials can be transferred.

After that, Ali, who lives in Sivas/Divriği founds this memory post which is pinned to the location near he lives. It attracts his interest so he clicks and sees the information that Akif is missing. Ofcourse Ali knows the answers so he adds an annotation to Akif's question.

It is first operated by ETIBANK.

So the missing information is added.

Information Correction

Turgut Aras is a retired bank clerk. He was born in 1964 in Fatih, İstanbul. Turgut has been living in Istanbul since he was born. He has witnessed the change of life sytle in Istanbul from his childhood days to today. So, he has lots of memories about this city, especially about Fatih.

One day, Turgut comes accross hiStory application on the web. After he reads memories of other people on the platform, he decides to share his own memories. After he sign-ups to the system, he creates a Memory Post in which he writes about the general life style in Istanbul during 1980s. He shares some photos he has taken throughout his life of these old days and writes his memories related to the items and events depicted in those photos.

Turgut shares a photo in which a trolleybus is seen and he writes those sentences:

Back in these days, trolleybuses were very common in Istanbul. I was used to going to the school with trolleybuses when I was a student. I remember that these vehicles often stopped working because of power cuts. They were present on the roads of Istanbul until 1990.

Hüseyin Yılmaz, another member of hiStory, sees the Memory Post Turgut has published. Hüseyin is also retired. He worked at IETT for long years. He started his worklife at IETT as a trolleybus driver. While reading about the memories of Turgut, Hüseyin realizes that some information Turgut provided about trolleybuses is wrong. Then, he attaches an annotation to the trolleybus seen in the photo and states that trolleybuses were taken off the roads in Istanbul at 1984.

Adding to the Memories

The person with the black dress is Alice. She lives in Canada and celebrates the Eid with Canadian Muslims every year. However there is one very special year for her, the year 2005. On that year, there was a very big Eid celebration where so many people gathered together. This sight made her very happy and filled her with joy. That's why she decides to post this picture along with her memory.

Paul, Alice's brother, sees this picture and recognizes that Alice is wearing the black dress he had bought for her many years ago. He marks the dress in the picture and adds an annotation to make her remember that the dress she was wearing was a present given to her from him.
