The explorer window is the default window user is seeing after being authenticated. It provides the means to manage and organize process diagrams stored on the servers. For modeling process diagrams, editor window is used.

Using the workspace

1. All process diagrams created by Aperte Modeler are stored on the central server inside the workspace directory
2. The workspace can consist of multiple folders, grouping together process diagrams.
3. The workspace can be navigated using the folder tree on the left, as shown below:
4. Currently no drag and drop functionality is supported inside the explorer. All file and folder operations are performed using the Edit menu, after selecting the desired element, as shown below:

Creating new process diagram

1. From the top menu click Next.
2. From the drop down list select Business Process Diagram (BPMN2.0) for Aperte Workflow.
3. New browser tab will be opened with process editor view containing empty process definition. This may be blocked by your web browser of choice, so make sure that popup windows aren't restricted for Aperte Modeler domain.

Editing existing process diagrams

The simple way

1. Double click on the desired process diagram.
2. New browser tab will be opened with process editor view.

The more complicated way

1. Select the desired process diagram by left clicking it.
2. From the top menu click Edit.
3. From the drop down list select Edit diagram.
4. New browser tab will be opened with process editor view.
