Aperte Workflow is an Open Source BPM suite, providing ready-to-use, comprehensive process platform for Liferay Portal.
Aperte Workflow version 2.0 RC1 some new features:
- Web service API.
- Support of parallel processes and subprocess.
- Ability to create custom process dictionaries from the modeler.
- Added SwitchWidget - widget displays one of its child widgets depending on the condition.
- Ability to mark buttons as Primary / Secondary to visually distinguish primary from secondary share (Cancel/Correct)
- BPM notifications:
- E-mails are displayed in the background with jobbing, instead of immediately, as it was before the place
- The ability to deliver custom parameters used to fill e-mails, templates.
- Increased range of account setup / templates / shipping notification
- Configuration panel
- Automatically adding roles to liferay by using "roles-config.xml" file defined in plugin.
- Plugins can define custome gui, which can be placed in the Aperte User Workflow Portlet. You can put a lot of these portlets on a single page.
- Similar functionality is available via the control panel: "Aperte Workflow Portlet Admin".
- Plugins can be placed in the directory specified by parameter osgi-plugins-directory instead of the default servlet directory: "osgi-plugins".
Fixed Issues:
- Bypass problem of automatic step on the beginning of the process, by means of human task with a name beginning with the AUTO_SKIP
- Problem with default language.
- Resolved problem with national characters.
- Repaired liferay freezes, when wrong name of tasks.
- MulseStep timeout problem, does not exist any more.
- Resolved many problems with Scripts.
- Get rid of many misleading logs.
- Added new OSGI plugin loading mechanism, to improve Aperte Start.
- Improved diagram validation during deployment.
- Added some polish translations.
- Codes now compile with java 1.7.
- Repaired issues with I18n.
- File upload widget now works like a charm.
- Imporved plugin redeployment/undeployment.
- Improved overall system stability and performance.
- Repaired widged elements issues.
- Process deadlines uses bpm notification instead of their own.
- Fixed many more minor issues.

- Support for popular servlet containers (JBoss, Tomcat) and RDBMS - with JTA support.
- Integrated Lucene search - with respect to roles and permissions configured on a process
- Process instance console, available in Liferay Control Panel. The console provides basic Business Activity Monitoring features.
