Minn Kota prop - bjornburton/champbot GitHub Wiki
Last year's challenge entries had all manner of prop issues. Undersized, in all cases. Fragile MakerBot and weak, inefficient sheet-metal in others. After seeing the poor props from last year, we decided to focus on that by buying an engineered prop. Props for deep running, high-drag models are rare and, when located, costly. The solution was electric trolling motor prop of the smallest and lowest cost type: The $11 Min Kota MKP-2. For $11 ($22 for both, including shipping) this is a large glass reinforced resin prop which includes the pin. It's designed to operate at low speed, resist fowling, resist impact and provide high thrust.
