iTC Meeting Minutes 2025 01 21 - biometricITC/cPP-biometrics GitHub Wiki
Call started at 10:03am EST
The call started with a quick review of the task list. Brian reviewed some changes, mainly in adding new topics top start working on how to deal with AVA_VAN for the new PAD levels.
The call then moved to the Face PAD-L1 Toolbox update. The changes were reviewed and discussed. It was determined that there should be a mention of minimal shadows (or no harsh shadows) during use in the normal environment. This was added during the call to the inventory document and then merged for publication.
The last topic was a discussion about how to handle the different AVA_VAN levels. While CC:2022 has a concept of multi-assurance evaluations, how this works in practice yet still isn’t clear. Brian stated that JIL (for smart cards) is working on this, but as of the ICCC only had ideas and nothing written down.
The proposed plan is to start working on AVA_VAN.2 for the PAD-L2 toolboxes now, since fingerprint is published and face will likely be out by April. AVA_VAN for the PAD-L3 could be worked on based on what seems likely to work for PAD-L2.
The approach seems to be by PP-Module, though NIAP has published a functional package with ALC_FLR (but that has no other dependencies). It isn’t clear how exactly this works, especially since the base document is a PP-Module already and takes whatever AVA_VAN is from the actual Base-PP. This alone could get messy as the ETSI TS 103 732 series is at EAL2, so some of this would have to be adjusted (such as does this mandate that PAD-L2 is required for this evaluation?).
The call ended at 10:44am EST.
