iTC Meeting Minutes 2022 09 20 - biometricITC/cPP-biometrics GitHub Wiki
Call started at 10:02am EDT
-
Everyone will review section 2 of the current draft of the CMFA overview and provide comments or pull requests before the next call
The call started with a review of the task list. Brian had marked off the MDF integration as the documents have now been published (on September 12).
Brian then presented a proposal for possibly working with a new PP (first version, not the one to be integrated with) that is being updated from ETSI. The PP is focused on consumer devices, not enterprise (so no central management server), but otherwise would have the same requirements around biometrics. The initial PP has very basic requirements, such that they only cover FAR/FRR for the component.
Brian is leading an effort to update the PP and bring in stronger requirements, which includes a desire to update the biometrics requirements to use the PP-Module. There isn’t a specific timeline yet as ETSI has not considered this yet, but Brian will present it with agreement that this is acceptable to the iTC.
Naruki asked if this would be done under EUCC and if BSI or anyone else has set up expectations around functional areas for the evaluation. Brian stated that since EUCC isn’t published yet that isn’t clear, nor is any focus from BSI (though they have supported the updated effort on the requirements). Brian also stated that the PP effort is focused around establishing a baseline for consumer devices which governments could rely on, though they may not be targeted to specific purchase orders from said governments (like MDF for US).
The group agreed that this would be a good use for the PP-Module and would consider updates once the ETSI position (and needs) become clear.
The final topic was a review of the current state of the CMFA overview draft. The dates in the Task List were updated to reflect the next several calls for producing an "finished" draft that could be presented to the CCDB as well as to the wider ICCC community during the Biometrics iTC update.
Brian emphasized that they aren’t trying to write the SFRs, but to put together claims in natural language about what we would want to claim/test (but to use existing SFRs where applicable). This was agreed to, and the next few calls will focus on those updates.
The call ended at 10:43am EDT.
