Active Scan
Active Scans should be used for post AP deployment or when concerns are about one SSID
Setting Up AirMapper
- Make sure Site Prep work is done
- From the home screen of the tool select the AirMapper App

- Open AirMaper Settings

- Select Floor Plan
- Select the Floor Plan for the site you are at from the options listed
- Back out of floor plan to AirMapper Settings
- Select Survey Mode
- Set the mode to Connected (Active)
This requires an active connection to the local WI-FI - Select OK
- Select Name
- Name the scan with the location you are scanning
- Set up the Auto-Test app with the SSID and Password you are looking to scan
- Start the Auto-Test scan
Running the Scan
- Go to the AirMapper home screen
- Select START at the top right

- Tap on your location within the site map
- A red circle will appear, wait for it to turn green

- Move to the edge of the now green circle and tap again at your new location
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 till the map is completely green
Dots can be removed by selecting the arrow at the top right
The map can be rotated with the button on the bottom right - Select the STOP
If this is done in ERROR you can select RESUME

Uploading the Scan
- Select the upload button in the top right

- Select Upload to Link-Live
- Call into the TACN to confirm file was uploaded and no areas were missed.
- Collect info from on-site users of problematic areas.
- With TACN review the data collected.
Passive Scan
Passive Scans should be used in pre-deployment or sites where we want total environment data.
Setting Up AirMapper
- Make sure Site Prep work is done
- From the home screen of the tool select the AirMapper App

- Open AirMaper Settings

- Select Floor Plan
- Select the Floor Plan for the site you are at from the options listed
- Back out of floor plan to AirMapper Settings
- Select Survey Mode
- Set the mode to Current Scan (Passive)
- Select OK
- Select Name
- Name the scan with the location you are scanning
- Dwell Time should be set to 250ms
Running the Scan
- Go to the AirMapper home screen
- Select START at the top right

- Tap on your location within the site map
- A red circle will appear, wait for it to turn green

- Move to the edge of the now green circle and tap again at your new location
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 till the map is completely green
