Installing Spring
For Players
Users who wish to play a game that uses the Spring engine should go to the Games page and use the standalone installer for their game if one is available. A list of these games offered is at the GamesDownloads page as well.
For games that do no have standalone installers, users can instead download and run the Spring Engine installer and then download the mod by going to that game's page. Double-clicking on a mod or map file (.sd7 or .sdz )when the Spring Engine is installed will automatically 'install' it for you.
For Developers
Developers should visit the download section and follow the instructions there.
Starting a Test or Single-Player Game
Windows:
There is no real "Single Player Mode" but in the current version you can execute the "spring.exe" included in the install directory (or use the "Test Spring" shortcut in the Start Menu on windows). This will bring up a list of "Games", pick one. Next Choose a GlobalAI Test for the AI you want to fight (Some AIs may just sit there and do nothing with some or all Games) or "Random Enemies" (which will throw random enemies at you, but might not work with all Games). Then choose a map and get started.
The more reliable way to start a single player game is to start a passworded or locked game on the server and add AI "bots" to the match instead of human players. See: Hosting Games
Playing
For help and strategy guides for playing individual games, go to the relevant game's page via the Games page.

Installing New Maps and Mod Files
For Windows Users: Double clicking on a mod or map file (.sd7 or .sdz)will automatically 'install' it by moving it to a folder where Spring will be able to recognise it.
