Project Meeting 2017.07.06 - bellevuewa/BKRCast GitHub Wiki

Calibration

  • Transit boardings are better with the ESD employment
  • Highway screenlines still look pretty good
  • Bellevue (and Seattle) downtown peak assignment volumes still low
  • Tour lengths for soc/rec, escort, and work-based all adjusted a bit and look better
  • School tour durations adjusted and look better
  • Remaining issue is not enough travel in CBDs (see below)

CBD trips

  • Bellevue and Seattle CBD travel remains a bit low
  • Especially work-related
  • @Will split out home-based from non-home-based and by time-of-day to better understand differences
  • Work-based subtour generation model may need to adjusted to produce more trips in dense / CBD-type areas
  • BKRCast CBD employment matches pretty well with the SoundCast CBD employment
  • @We'll investigate some more and hopefully resolve by next call

Documentation / training

  • @We'll add a page to the wiki that explains the calibration process:
    • the F12 files, the coefficient index descriptions, the calibration workbooks
    • how and what is adjusted, etc.
    • maybe @PSRC has some documentation on their calibration work to date?
  • We'll pause the project after we address the CBD issue and the calibration wiki page and then collect questions from Bellevue ahead of a final workshop

Project management

  • ~$5k or 6k of budget left, so we need to be careful with remaining work
  • RSG suggests setting up a DaySim maintenance and support contract after the project ends; PSRC is working on setting one up
  • @Stefan - any updates on improving walk trip lengths? And you may want to investigate CBD trip rates as well
  • @Send out meeting invite for July 20th
