Transit boardings

  • Transit boardings issue was due to differences in zone sizes inside versus outside BKR
  • DaySim uses the TAZ to TAZ skims for transit LOS except for access/egress, which it gets from the parcel file
  • The combination of big zones outside BKR with parcel-based transit access/egress resulted in the total cost for transit being too low for many OD pairs
  • Calibrated tour mode constants by origin and destination district as a result
  • Transit mode shares and line boardings look much better
  • Line 935 was removed in late 2014, so we will set its headway to 0, which will help goodness-of-fit

Highway assignments

  • Goodness-of-fit looks pretty good
  • In general volumes are a little high, but still a little low in CBDs
  • CBD attractiveness needs to probably be increased a bit
  • Increase work-based tours and shop tours a bit and/or increase number of stops on work and/or shop tours

Other issues

  • Still need to adjust tour lengths for soc/rec and escort a bit
  • Still need to adjust school departure time a bit
  • PSRC working on some revisions to walk trip lengths that we may incorporate soon

Next update

  • Include a couple slides on what f12 coefficient files and coefficients are being adjusted
  • Post updated model setup and inputs on GitHub for Hu to download and run an ESD-based model run
  • By next call, complete another round of calibration addressing all of the issues above + analyze Hu's run

Project management

  • We've got about $12k left in the budget as of today
  • This should be enough for another round of calibration, an abbreviated training, and a bit of support / additional calibration
