Workspaces can be viewed freely across monitors provided that they are not pinned to a designated monitor.

When activating a workspace that is already being viewed on another monitor the two monitors will swap workspaces.

GreedyMonitor off

The GreedyMonitor functionality disables this feature by making the monitor greedy and giving no workspace in return.

GreedyMonitor on

The monitor losing the workspace will end up selecting the next available workspace on that monitor.

A monitor can also end up having no workspaces in this manner. That makes it a sad monitor.
