The SchemeAdjacent colour scheme is used:

• when the HighlightAdjacent functionality is enabled

The scheme adds colours on the immediate left and immediate right of the currently selected menu item.

The scheme originates from the morecolor patch for dmenu where it was named SchemeMid.
