Usage ‐ SLM ‐ Bookmarked Programs ‐ Special Actions - babsonnexus/stream-link-manager-for-channels GitHub Wiki

The field Special Action seen in the details of Movies, TV Show Episodes, and Videos is used to make specific changes to potentially generated Stream Links/Files. For instance, if your Movie or Show is available on multiple Streaming Services but you prefer it to be from one with a lower priority, you can make that assignment.

The options that are available are different by type, but there are overall commonalities. In most cases, users will leave it as None, which means that a Stream Link will try to be generated by the normal methods. However, aside from the scenario described above, there are situations when it is necessary to take advantage of these functions. These additional Special Actions are discussed in their own pages:

  • Make STRM: Stream Files (.strm) link directly to a video file and can be watched natively in a client player. This is in contrast to the default Stream Links (.strmlnk) that launch a separate app and load the content there.

  • Make SLM Stream: SLM Streams are a type of Stream File that works internally inside Streaming Library Manager. These allow you to use a link to online videos on providers like YouTube, Twitch, and other similar hosts and be able to watch them natively in a client player. Some setting changes are required to get this to work properly.
