There are certain overrides at the program level that can either be input or imported, although the selections vary by the type. Users of the "Channels DVR" Edition in particular have the opportunity have these values sync'd into Channels DVR during regular refresh processes. For other Editions, this remains more information for the time being.

Of note, these override fields include:

  • Title: What the visible program name is.

  • Summary: A description for the program.

  • Image Type and Image (Manual): The picture used to represent the program, either based upon the list of available episodes/videos or a direct link to an image provided by the user.

  • Sort and Sort Order: For videos, in what order should they appear and be listed.

    This includes being able to set the order manually, which appears in its own block.

    The name of the videos shown are dependent upon if the user has added a Video Title override or not.

Altering individual components like the aforementioned video title or TV Shows episodes, as well as affecting items like Summary and Image for a Movie, is discussed elsewhere.

Example

Here, we have a Video Group where we have set the Image Type Override to use the First Episode/Video Image and made the order be Original Air Date (Forward).

Note that the Original Air Date is an imported value from the individual videos. With this in place, after doing an update to Channels DVR, the Video Group gets what we have put in place.

Note the current order of the episodes and the image used:

Now we could change the order to Original Air Date (Reverse) and refresh this selection to Channels.

Now, the episode order has changed, as has the program image since it is based upon what is the "first" video:

This is also true if we set a "manual" order.
