General Manual Considerations

Sometimes when searching, you still might not be able to find the Movie or Show you are looking for. While uncommon (see Troubleshooting / FAQ), it may happen, especially for rare or international content. Also you may have Videos that do not fit neatly into the Movie or Show categories or are on a provider that is not supported by search. In these cases, you can always create a manual bookmark.

There are several fields that need to be filled out before the Add button becomes clickable. For all types, you must enter a Title and a Release Year. If it's a Movie, that's all that is required. However, a TV Show must know how many seasons and episode per season you want.

Once again, note that you will only be allowed to continue once you've correctly put in the number of seasons and episodes per season. Videos are somewhat similar to TV Shows in that the user is creating a Video Group name and must select how many individual videos they might want.

No matter which object type you are adding, you will immediately be thrown into the edit menu to continue doing the necessary inputs.

Here you will see the details created as designated by the user. It should be highlighted that manual entries require a Stream Link Override to be entered, otherwise they will not generate a Stream Link/File file.

Videos and Video Groups

Videos and Video Groups have some special considerations.

Videos within a Video Group must have unique names (names can be repeated in other groups). By default, they are just given generic names like Input name for Video 01, prompting you to change them. However, you can leave them as-is and just use the Video Title Override. Should you remove the name and not put one in, that default name will be restored. If you give two or more videos the same name, all subsequent ones after the first will be given a name upon save that will let you know they are duplicates.

Since these are manual entries, you must give them a Stream Link/File Override (called the Video Link here) in order for files to be generated. See Special Actions - SLM Streams for other considerations, including about making Stream Files instead of Stream Links that can play videos natively in clients. Further details on video options are also discussed in the edit menu. Otherwise, they are exactly like other programs.

Importing Playlists

Another way to add Videos and a Video Group is by importing an existing playlist.

Unlike with the other manual programs above, you do not need to input a Title and Release Year. Instead, these values are derived from the playlist itself, with the Release Year being set to that of the oldest video. For example, a YouTube playlist would be something like https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL14ROmPIeY8pwm_a8IZJtpIL60E1dLu6L.

NOTE: At this time, only YouTube playlists can be imported directly using this method. However, in the future, modifications will be made to expand to other providers like Twitch. In the meantime, if you want to use them, you must use the manual method as highlighted above.

Once you do the import, though, you'll be brought to a similar setup as seen with manual videos.

Unlike with manual additions, all of the appropriate metadata is already imported. Still, you can make any modifications you want at this point. One of the key items to consider is under Bookmark Action:

Here, you can choose to Sync Online Playlist so that as new videos are added, they are also imported into SLM during the Check for New Episodes subprocess. For example, here is a Playlist for a Video Channel that does live streams but does not post those in their feed:

Instead, they add the latest stream to the top of the list. When that happens and the appropriate sync runs, it automatically appears:
