Usage ‐ PLM ‐ Regular Activity ‐ Parent Stations - babsonnexus/stream-link-manager-for-channels GitHub Wiki
Aside from making parents from child stations, you also have the option to create and edit parents directly. This can be especially useful when the names provided by the m3u are not clear or specific enough and you want to easily see what they are.
There are also several optional fields to override what may be provided by the child stations. For instance, you may have a Gracenote ID for guide data that was not provided and can plug that in here.
You can even override the default priority order of the Playlists if you have a use case to make a specific source for one particular station be the first choice.
Under this menu is also the 'Delete' selection.
Using this selection, you can set it for multiple parents at once, resulting in all of them being deleted on save and their child stations being unassigned.
Should you try to create a new parent using the 'Delete' tag, it will be assigned 'None'.
Importantly, you can temporarily turn off a Parent Station by making it inactive.
This is useful for many cases, such as seasonal programming. This also saves you from having to manage the stations in downstream tools like Channels DVR where you would have to either hide/unhide or add/remove from Channel Collections.
There may be some cases when you want even more granular control for a station than is shown in Parent Stations
. In these situations, you can select Edit
under the More Fields
column.
This will bring you to the More Parents
page. Conversely, you can navigate to that page directly and then select the station you want to edit.
There are a plethora of potential fields to edit here, although almost all of them are optional.
