Everything that is set for a station can always be changed and even undone in the Modify Assigned Stations section:

Additionally, there are some advanced features that can be used in either location. For instance, there is an option to override the "Stream Format" inherited from the source Playlist.

As an example, if your source m3u is generally HLS, it would make sense to label it as so. However, there might be a few child stations that are actually MPEG-TS. In these instances, you can input that override with this field and PLM will handle parsing them to the correct downstream playlists to be consumed by Channels DVR or other players.
