The automated Check Station Status routine will run against all valid stations, but there are some ways to adjust this process, examine a single station, and see additional detail about them. This can all be found in the Station Status area, which becomes visible when Check Station Status is activated.

Elsewhere, on the Summary page, are a variety of settings you can make to control this process.

This includes:

• Number of Attempts: How many times a streaming URL will be attempted before giving up. The default is "3".

• Delay Between Attempts: The time in seconds between attempts at a URL that fails. The default is "5".

• Skip Playlist After Fails: If a certain playlist has its stations failing, you can choose to skip checking the remainder of the stations within that playlist to save time. The number of allowed fails is this setting. Do note that these stations will then be marked as "Disabled (Skipped Check)" and will treated the same as any disabled one.

  

  The default value of "0" means infinite fails.

All of these settings can be modified at any time with little repercussions aside from how long the process may take.

Aside from these controls is the option to "Examine" any of these streams in greater detail.

All your child stations are available from a simple dropdown selector with filtering.

Selecting a station and clicking Examine will try to find all types of metadata and information about that particular stream.

The resulting fields will be unique depending upon what is available and the stream type.

The above screenshots shows an HLS stream, but here is an example of an MPEG-TS one:

You also have the option of entering a link directly and selecting the Manual (Input Link Below) option.

More so, you can also click the Examine button on the Unassigned Stations and Assigned Stations pages. For instance, here is a station that got scanned as DRM and, subsequently, became disabled.

Clicking on the Examine button will then run the analysis against that station and provide additional information, such as what type of DRM is being used.

You can even run an examine against a station that would otherwise be skipped by the automated process above. Here we can see one station that was set to Ignore, but perhaps we want to know something about it.

Upon clicking Examine, we get those details.

Further, note that it came back with its stream type (HLS). This information will then be available in the Unassigned and Assigned Station pages.

That means the Examine button also acts as a "rescan" option for any station you want to recheck without running the entire process! This also means you could theoretically turn off the auto-scan on all playlists and just do single station checks at your leisure.
