Usage ‐ Overview - babsonnexus/stream-link-manager-for-channels GitHub Wiki
With Streaming Library Manager startup complete and the program running in the background, you can navigate to the webpage:
http://localhost:[YOUR_PORT_HERE]
i.e.,
Default...
http://localhost:5000
Example Mapped...
http://localhost:7900
If you are on a different machine than where Streaming Library Manager is installed, you will need to use the name or IP Address of that machine in place of localhost and make sure the port is open (as discussed in the installation directions) to be accessed. It is also important to note that you should use http:// and not https:// as the latter may cause the webpage to not be able to load. Once at the location, though, you should see the homepage:
With the program running, there are a number of activities you should do and personal preferences you should determine before getting underway.
- Set the Edition
- Enable/Disable Extensions and Add-ons
- Manage Articles for Sorting
- Confirm the Stream Links/Files and Media Base Directory (For Channels DVR and Media Player Users)
- Confirm the Channels DVR URL (For Channels DVR Users)
- Set Search Defaults, especially Country (For Stream Link/File Manager Users)
- Set File Name Options (For Stream Link/File Manager Users)
There is no concern if you need to change any or all of these options later; do not be concerned about causing any permanent damage or losing any data. In most situations, things are just hidden and disabled, not removed.
Also, as a personal preference, if you click on the palette button...
... you can change to "Dark Mode":
Aside from the visuals, everything will function exactly the same. As such, with all of these items in place, you are ready to use the program proper and should follow the specific usage details on each of the pages on this Wiki.
