There are so many ways and places to watch media nowadays, but just being able to figure out what's available and where it lives is a massive pain!

Some providers have tried to resolve this by making it possible to integrate disparate content. For instance, in client-based media players like Channels DVR and Infuse, users have the ability to add on-demand movies, TV show episodes, and videos through "Stream Links" and "Stream Files" that are housed alongside all other sources (recordings, local files, etc...). Some of these can also add custom linear stations by integrating streaming m3u playlists. And then there are even more ways to personalize the experience! While these engines are powerful, they have limitations that often require a fair bit of maintenance and know-how. But what if we could make the whole process a little... easier?

Making these tasks a seamless and simple experience is the purpose behind Streaming Library Manager and it's set of custom extensions and add-ons. Streaming Library Manager itself is a local background service that sets up a web-based graphical user interface (GUI) for interaction and management. With security and privacy at the forefront, all data and information solely exists on the end-user's machine and is accessible in an easy-to-read human format. There is no logging in, no reporting back to Basil Junction Publishing, no selling anything to 3rd party marketers or AI, no features hidden behind a paywall, or any similar situation. Further, the code-base is completely open-source and readily available for anyone to review and audit. Streaming Library Manager is a personal passion project that will continue to exist and be maintained whether you choose to support it with a monetary tip or not.

Depending upon the end user's specific media consumption tools and clients, which functions they want to use, and their overall goals, there are several editions of Streaming Library Manager available. At this time, these options consist of:

  • Streaming Library Manager for Channels DVR [Default]
  • Streaming Library Manager for Media Players (i.e., Infuse)
  • Streaming Library Manager Solo Edition

What these mean in detail and how to choose which is right for you is discussed elsewhere. This Wiki is meant to be your first and most up-to-date resource on all that Streaming Library Manager has to offer!

NOTE: Some of the visuals seen in the videos and in the screen shots throughout this Wiki may be out of date as updates to format and functionality have been applied to the program.
