Project Buddies software ecosystem
Project Buddies includes the Blender tutor site, the issue pipeline that develops it, and the tools beside them. This wiki records design decisions and explains how the systems work. GitHub issues track remaining work; the repo's README.md covers setup and commands, and AGENTS.md holds the coding, test and production rules.
Product and practices
- Blender AI tutor: product scope, version 1 acceptance criteria and validation gaps.
- Decisions: design choices and rejected alternatives, grouped by area. Issues and code comments refer to decisions by slug, such as
claude-spend-quota. - Coding practices digest: a summary of the repo's rules. These apply to every app and tool, not only the site.
- Site operations: operational notes and troubleshooting observations that supplement the README.
Issue pipeline
- Issue pipeline: goals, rules and design decisions.
- Running the issue pipeline: setup, operation and recovery.
- Pipeline roles: role boundaries, state machines and remaining role work.
- Agent labels: label meanings and how to resume a stopped issue.
- Token spend: usage records and how to trace a commit to its sessions and cost.
- Reimagined pipeline: the target design for the pipeline's rewrite, which is not installed yet.
Historical reference
- How the build runs: the retired staged-build process, before the issue pipeline.
- Retrospectives: lessons from completed build stages, not current operating instructions.
Edit the wiki
Follow the wiki style guide. The wiki is a Git submodule at wiki/, not an ignored folder. In an existing code checkout, initialize the pinned revision with:
git submodule update --init --recursive
Run this again after switching branches or pulling to read the revision pinned by the code. Wiki edits belong to the wiki repository; recording a new pin in the parent repository is a separate change.
The pipeline initializes the submodule for each job. Stage jobs let the spec writer edit the wiki; implementation stages read it, and merge and publish stages rebase and publish its commits. Wiki changes are reviewed and link-checked. See Spec and wiki for the workflow and the pipeline's README for checkout and pin handling.
