This tutorial describes how to connect your Ledger Nano X to the MetaMask mobile app on Android or iOS and import your Ledger account.

Please note that connecting your Ledger device to MetaMask mobile requires Bluetooth and cannot be done via USB cable. As such, this feature is not available to Ledger Nano S Plus users. Also, please note that, currently, you can only sync a single Ledger account with the MetaMask mobile app.

Before you start

• Update Ledger Live to the latest version.
• Connect your Ledger Nano X to Ledger Live and ensure it has the latest OS (firmware) version.
• Make sure to update the Metamask app on your iPhone to v7.17.0 or above. This might require a manual update through the AppStore.
• Make sure that your Bluetooth is enabled. To check if Bluetooth is enabled on your Ledger Nano X:
  • Turn on and unlock your Ledger Nano X.
  • Hold both buttons to access the Control Center.
  • Navigate to the Bluetooth symbol using the right or left button.
  • Check if the Bluetooth status displays enabled.

Pair and connect your Ledger Nano X to MetaMask mobile app

You can pair your Ledger Nano X to the MetaMask mobile app using Bluetooth.

Ledger Nano S Plus is not compatible with the MetaMask mobile app, but it is compatible with the MetaMask browser extension.

1. Open the MetaMask mobile app and navigate to Accounts.
2. Tap Add account or hardware wallet.
3. Tap Add hardware wallet.
4. Select Ledger as a hardware wallet you want to use. Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and your Ledger Nano X.
5. Select your Ledger Nano X and tap Continue.
6. Check the code displayed on your Ledger Nano X and in the app.
7. If they match, tap Pair.

All done! Your Ledger account(s) will be displayed in the MetaMask mobile app.
