Session 22 - 24th Aug 2025 In-game date: Thursday 29th November 1934 - breakfast time Daniel and Elena identified 2 or 3 people who could act as a guide to take to Chichen Xoxul. Guides: Pablo Garza: Mid 30s, grew up in the area, has never been to the ruins. He is confident in the jungle, superstitious. Need the job to feed his family. On the cautious side, he could shoot a revolver but is not very good. Guillermo Castillo: Early 40s, moved to Merida. Professional guide. Has been to the ruins several times. Does not believe the legends. Married with 2 children. A bit shady, he takes care of himself. Rick Luke: Late 30s. Indiana Jones type. Exploring Mexico and Yucatan for the last 15 years. No kids. Rick gets directions from Guillermo and estimates 4 days through the jungle. Rick to organise some additional porters (1 per person) with additional equipment, food and water in case they are stranded. Medical equipment. Well equipped for a professional expedition and will be carried by their porters. The investigators will bring Elena and Konovalov. Friday 30th Nov - dawn The trucks of Dominguez are at the clearing in good shape but untouched for weeks. Start walking at lunch time, till the sun sets, then set camping. All de la Vega men carry machete, handgun and rifle. They seem to have the mission to shoot the Dominguez expedition. The investigators do shifts tagging along the de la Vega people. Day 2 same as day 1 Day 3 same as day 1 but with a storm Day 4 see a stone marker intact - with Gol-goroth at the top as a bloated frog. The Xoxul offer the heads of the Mayans to their god. Day 4 towards lunch time - they arrive to the area of Chichen Xoxul. They have lunch (till 2pm). They go around the perimeter of the ruins and watching from the jungle line they cannot see any movement inside. (till 3.30pm) Ralph’s hand markings shine, stronger the closer to the pyramid. They see in the distance, inside the ball court, some tents setup. They proceed to the ball court, and they see the scene of a massacre. Dozens of decapitated bodies lay around. Some of them have arrows and spears sticking out of them. It seems like the attack came from then only opening to the ball court. Some of the bodies were decapitated while still alive - judging from the loss of blood. In other cases, the neck opening seemed cauterised, while at the same time showing teeth marks. The arrows and spears seemed to be freshly handcrafted, while being made in the style of the Xoxul. The bodies have been matched to all the participants of the expedition (as per the photo) except for a woman and a man. The bodies have been lying there for 2-3 weeks. They have been untouched by any animals and have not decayed. In fact, it seems that Chichen Xoxul is in complete silence and there is no animal life at all in it.
The body of Dominguez had a letter in his pocket that he was working on. Indicating the importance of the pyramid. De la Vega’s men are scared, they did not really believe in the return of the Xoxul, but this seems to indicate that they have returned. They do not know what to do and want to wait for De la Vega to arrive. It’s 5.30pm, 3rd December 1934
