Michael Drake was born to the Boston cold in early December 1896, the son of a Irish immigrant who came in the last years of Irish immigration to America, his father had set up shop as a tool and repairman for the local Cambridge area where Michael found himself growing up in. His mother he barely knew as they were not in the picture most of his life. Rather being raised on his fathers work and the jobs that Michael could find here and their. Later in his life Michael would find time for schooling on and off while working, spending some weeks in school as times went well to night classes when his fathers work was in need for better work. All of which though moved in his favor as he found himself accustomed to numbers and the understanding of how things worked in the world and democracy that seemingly supported it all. A turning point in how Michael would ultimately view the world through a lens of how best to support the greater good. A value which he took on as when he turned 18 he volunteered himself as a American group heading to join the British regiments fighting for a "better world" in early stages of WW1. This early involvement left a unwillingness to fight as he saw all the war had to offer. The trench warfare in the French and Belgian countryside, the shelling that rang day and night. The death that left its stench through it all. Though the moment of humanity that shown through only cemented the idea that a causeless war would suffer for all. He saw those in the trench's care for each other, the Germans hold care as well. All human in a world of hateful men. Eventually Michael would be pushed out of service and would go back to America, finishing education in New port as he majored in accounting and law. Where he would serve as a friend of Horatio Rodgers the husband of Janet Winston. Who he worked for as accountant and appraiser to all the work she needed done for.
Though the stress of work has led the grays to come quickly, they still hold themselves to be reliable in conversation, and in any need a helpful figure in matters of law and study of numbers.
