Definition

Growth Facility is a concept in MIAPPE but not one that seems to be formally defined. For APPN, a growth facility is an infrastructure location within which a plant phenotyping experiment is conducted, either a defined area in the landscape (a research farm, etc.) or a controlled space in which plants may be grown (cabinet, chamber, rhizobox, etc.).

A growth facility may double as an ObservationUnit if it represents the scope for one or more ObservedVariables. It may also double as a Platform if it is equipped with one or more Sensors.
