I Read the online article about an SMB port and about ports 445/139. SMB stands for server message block, which is a server that allows user communication for access sharing of files, serial port, printers and data over a network. This is a topic i would like to learn more about as it gives an insight into how users can communicate and share information within a server. To use SMB, it has to be on an open port, i.e. 139 and 445. There are way to keep open port secure like adding VPN or using a firewall.
