Electroplasm Carvers are dual wielded. You need to have one in your mainhand and one in your offhand to use them to their full potential. You alternate mainhand attacks with offhand clicks. Doing this 3 times in a short amount of time will consume 1 Electroplasm and summon an Electroplasm Wave that pierces mobs and deals all the damage you dealt in the time it took to summon the wave.
