This error can be caused by video conferencing software

If you get this error in AAA when you try to use the camera or select a Task Window containing video, this can happen if you are using video conferencing or video recording software at the same time. For example, Zoom, Webex, Microsoft Teams, Discord and other video conferencing software causes this error to occur.

Please close AAA then close all video conferencing and video recording software running on your computer. That means you need to leave any video call that you are in and shut the program down completely. Then, open AAA and try again.

Other possible solutions

If the above does not fix it, please try the following steps:

  • Ensure the camera is connected to the SyncBrightUp, the SyncBrightUp is connected to the ImagingSource device, and the ImagingSource device is connected to the computer by USB. You can view a diagram of the correct hardware setup here.
  • Ensure that the camera is correctly connected to electrical power using the electrical adaptor provided with it (in an unmarked white box) and ensure the electrical wall socket is switched on. You must never use an electrical adaptor other than the one provided with the camera otherwise you risk irreversibly damaging the camera.
  • Download the installer for the latest version of AAA. Run it. When the installer asks you to choose what components to install, deselect everything and select only Camera related component(s). Proceed with that installation.
  • After all parts of the installation are complete, restart your computer.

If none of this fixes it, please email us and describe what problem you are experiencing and what things you have tried so far.
