Mean Squared Deviation (MSD), also known as Mean Squared Error (MSE) or Mean Squared Distance, is an Analysis Value that lets you compare how close together 2 splines are.

You must choose 2 splines to compare. It takes each spline and divides it into 100 equally spaced points, then iterates pairwise over the points and calculates the squared distance between them, then reducing the results by summation, like so:

This gives you an idea of how close together the 2 splines are on average.
