The above video was recorded in AAA version 219 on 13th December 2020 this is a tutorial showing how to export only selected annotations in text grid format and this is useful if you have working in a collaboration with someone with the same project as you and you want to share an annotation or set of annotations that you've made these would be new ones that you've made that you want to allow your partner to add into their project and without duplicating all the other annotations or or deleting all the other annotations so the first step here is to go into this annotation region and click on filter and we want to probably and you can choose whether to filter and client in this case we'll select all clients again you can choose to filter and recording we'll select all recordings and under annotations we're going to filter on annotation and and rather than selecting all labels we're going to filter on the label now in this case i want to select these annotations here labeled h15 now it's possible to use a regular expression regex here and i'm just going to type them out in full size h1 or ph2 or h three four four or h five okay and click on okay you see this region turns blue to indicate that the filter is switched on and you can see that we've just got these annotations in this filter so next stage is to export if we go to file export and files now we're going to want to export the annotations first of all just make sure we're not exporting anything else and these boxes should all be unchecked for ultrasonics and video glotto will have an epg sounds good under annotations we want to now export the annotations as PRAAT textgrid format so that's i'm going to check that box and then these are extra boxes here and they've been added recently so limit exported annotations according to annotation filter settings yes we want to do that and here it gives you the option not to export blank intervals and PRAAT expects segment tiers and to exist throughout the recording so even if there isn't a label present i would expect a segment to be there with a blank label and this just prevents the exporting of these regions that are unlabeled so that we end up just with the labels that we require and so the final thing is to select the output file format folder and which recordings we're going to choose so first of all let's select which clients if we click click on one client you get the option to select individual recordings but here we want to select all four clients and so select all of those and you can select use prompt if you as the file stem if you wish here we'll just stick to file and we will start at number one max number numerals three that looks fine output folder you probably want to browse for a folder which is probably a new folder i've prepared one so if we go into in this case my junk folder and look for my new annotations and we're going to pop all of these text grids into there so and just check all of these settings are correct and click on ok here we go and if i move into this junk folder and my new annotations here we can see a set of text grids now it's exported every single file but only the first repetition in each file had a text grid and if we open this we can see just h1 2 3 and 4.
