The above video was recorded in AAA version 219 on 23rd April 2021 this is a tutorial on how to export splines from one copy of the project and import them into a second copy of the project with the same recordings it's useful if several researchers are sharing a database and working at different rates so we'll go and select the project that we want to export from and it's this client p5 just have a quick look at b5 we want to export this green spline here if i go into edit splines and scroll through you can see there are lots of splines and it's this one called manual hyoid that we want to export and so we go ahead and go up to file and export and files and we want to export spline so make sure that's checked we don't really want to export everything anything else so all of these other boxes should be unchecked now in splines we want to we've got options we can export all of the splines or only ones relating to video only ones relating to ultrasonic data and in this case we're just going to export splines with matching name now it doesn't matter about upper or lower case but spaces and hyphens etc do matter we'll select this name here if for any reason the name of the spline you're looking for isn't in this list you can click on edit explore names and add a new name to the list and it will appear at the bottom of the list so i'll reselect to manual hyoid go back into this files tab we're going to export with a stem file let's set start number one and export to this folder junk and we'll select the files to export in this case current session and this single file here click ok and just have a quick look now here we've got a file that's just been created if you look inside notepad and here we can see all of the text data describing this one okay so now that we've exported that to a file we will open the project that we want to import the spline into and select this speaker p5 again and go up into file and import this time and go down to import splines and because we've got the folder selected that we've exported the spline into ie this junk folder and we can see that file spline file here so we will select that file to import and note there are two different spline file types and we're importing this.spl type and there is another csv type but we'll discuss that in a separate tutorial and then we go and specify the splines again we could in this case select all splines because the file only contains the manual hyoid spline but i'll select only splines matching the names below and select manual hyoid and then click on okay now it's recognized that this recording already has a spline called manual hyoid and we've got various options including overwriting or adding this as a second an additional spline with the same name and or just not adding the spline to this recording if you've got lots and lots of recordings that you're going to import splines into you might want to select overwrite for all recordings so you don't keep getting this message here we can just select overwrite for this recording because there is only one recording and click ok and we can see for this particular recording that the manual hyoid spline has been added and is the same colour the same thickness and moves around appropriately
