User Guide > Configuration > Controls

Controls

Each tab across the top allows you to change the control options for each locations window

Monitor

Monitors for changes to this location. If you never want ArkInventory to manage a specific location you can disable this option to save some cpu processing.

Some locations cannot have this option deselected. They will always get scanned when an update event happens.

Save

Saves this locations data, if this option is de-selected then, for example, if you leave the bank all bank data will be purged.

The Bag, Keyring, Pet and Mount data cant be deselected as it's always there, that data is purged on logout instead.

Notify

If enabled a notification message is printed every time data is purged for this location

Override

If enabled allows ArkInventory to override the blizzard windows for this location with it's own

Anchor Point

Defines which point of the ArkInventory window to anchor (keep in the same spot on screen)

Lock

If enabled will lock the ArkInventory window in place so it cannot be moved around

Design

Assigns a Design to for this location. A Design is made up by three different parts, Style, Layout and Category Set.

Styles determine how the window looks.

Layouts determine which Categories go on which bar, they also hold all the custom settings for the bars, eg background or border colour, its name, sort method, etc. Basically anything you do to a bar when in config mode is stored in the Layout.

Layouts and Styles share a common data record, so when you delete a Style you're also deleting the Layout part as well (and vice versa). If you do delete one by accident you can just restore it (so long as you haven't purged it).

Category Sets determine which categories are enabled or disabled for the window, the System Categories are always enabled.

It also stores which items are assigned to each Custom Category.

By breaking the window settings up into these three parts you can re-use the individual parts across multiple locations
