In progress: AI features

Fadeout is being extended with generative and agentic AI, using the Claude API.

Stage 1: natural-language recommendations

Ask for a film the way you'd ask a friend, for example "a heist film, but funny," and get recommendations that link straight to their Fadeout detail pages.

Stage 2: agentic search

An assistant that can decide for itself which TMDB searches to run, combine the results, and narrow them down to answer more complex requests.

How the AI key will be protected

The same way as the TMDB key (see API Proxy): stored in a server environment variable and used only by the proxy, never in the front-end code.
