Selune's Chosen - apexevolved/site GitHub Wiki

Selune's Chosen sacrifice a portion of their versatility in order to channel especially concentrated magical energy. As a Chosen, every mage makes a trade-off to gain greater power: they sacrifice an Arcanum completely, gaining a Banned Arcanum, in exchange for a third Ruling Arcanum.

Parent Path: None.

Nickname: Sorcerers

Oblation: The Mage must surround itself in a shell of magical energy, and go into a meditative trance. Remaining in the state for one hour allows the Mage to replenish a number of Mana Points equal to his dots in Occult. For the next 24 hours the Mage's eyes glow bright turquoise and any spell cast is considered Vulgar.

##Attainments

##1st: Well Of Power ###Prerequisites: Gnosis 3, Occult 3, Willpower 6, and must have at least 3 dots in a single Ruling Arcanum. The Mage increases its maximum Mana Points by an amount equal to his dots in Occult.

Optional Arcanum: Prime 3

If the Mage also possesses Prime 3, he is considered to have Supernal Vision (as the Prime 1 spell) permanently active, unless the Mage chooses to suppress it. As long as this ability is active, their eyes glow as they would for performing the oblation listed prior. The maximum Mana the Mage may spend per turn also increases by one.

##2nd: Font of Power ###Prerequisites: Gnosis 5, Occult 4, Willpower 7, and must have at least 4 dots in a single Ruling Arcanum. This attainment allows the Mage to perform two oblations per day instead of one.

Optional Arcanum: Prime 4

If the Mage also has Prime 4, he may reduce the casting time of any Rote Spell he knows by one step. The Mage must pay an experience point cost equal to the total cost of the Rote Spell. The Mage may perform this reduction a number of times equal to his dots in Occult.

##3rd: Unsuppressible Power ###Prerequisites: Gnosis 7, Occult 5, Willpower 8, and must have at least 5 dots in a single Ruling Arcanum. The Mage's spells cannot be altered or unwoven when they only include magic from one or more of his Ruling Arcanums, or when casting a spell that does not cost Mana.

Optional Arcanum: Prime 5

If the Mage also has Prime 5, anyone attempting to alter or unweave a magical effect created by the Mage suffers an additional penalty equal to the Mage's ES. The Mage also gain a bonus to altering and unweaving magical effects equal to their ES.
