How to adjust RAM allocation (3 methods) - antibang/BaerCraft GitHub Wiki

!!! If you're using CurseForge, DO NOT change or adjust your RAM allocation or JVM through the Minecraft launcher that pops up. This usually results in an instant crash!
!!! You do not need to do all methods. If you decide to do that for some reason, let it be known that the "per-profile" method always overrides the "global" setting in CurseForge.

Per-profile

First, click on the profile you want to manage. Then, press the 3 vertical dots next to the play button and select "Profile Options".

Then, you'll see a window pop up that looks like the one below. Untick the "Use System Memory Settings" box and then adjust your preferred amount of RAM to allocate.

Global

Setting your RAM this way will apply GLOBALLY to ALL CurseForge Minecraft instances. If you want to override the global setting, follow the steps above.

First, locate the gear icon on the bottom left-hand side of the CurseForge application.

Then, locate the section labeled as "Game Specific", and from there, select the Minecraft icon. Move the slider to your desired amount. That's it!

Default Launcher

ONLY use this method if you use the default Minecraft installation to play. So, if you use CurseForge, Prism, etc., then DO NOT use this method.

First, open the Minecraft launcher and select the "Installations" tab.
