How to Construct & Information About the Brazier - antibang/BaerCraft GitHub Wiki
Very important information about the brazier before getting to how to build the brazier structure:
Please understand that the materials needed to create the brazier AND the range of the base and per level is subject to CHANGE. They may not stay as they are now as I am still trying to balance everything as I see fit. I will notify people if it does happen to change.
A thing to note: This DOES NOT prevent hostile mobs from entering the range of which hostile mobs are prevented. New mobs will not spawn inside of the range, but they can indeed pass the range of the brazier if spawned outside of it.
By the way, when I am referring to "mobs" throughout this page, I am only referring to HOSTILE MOBS. Passive and neutral mobs will still spawn.
About the brazier:
Braziers are extremely useful and are an alternative to the powered lanterns for players lacking in the tech-department. A complete brazier multiblock structure with 1 level (the base) will prevent hostile mobs up to 64 blocks, unlike a powered lantern which only prevents up to 32.
However, each level that you add, it will increase the range by 24 blocks. May not sound like a lot or it doesn’t appear worth it, but it is significantly easier and does not consume energy like a powered lantern does. The maximum height currently is 6 levels, so you are able to get up to 208 blocks worth of protection against hostile mobs.
You will need a living flame to craft the brazier block itself. The living flame is not craftable, however, it is found in the Thornborn Towers, Foundries, Nether Cities, and is also dropped by the Hirschgeist mini-boss. While found rarely in the structures, the living flame is dropped every time you kill the Hirschgeist mini-boss.
A very helpful item, called a living torch, can show you the border of which your range is protecting you. It might be confusing because you need to walk to the wall of the range and eventually you will come across a wall of flames that indicate the end of your protection against hostile mobs.
What materials does the structure need? -
The brazier structure requires the brazier block. However, the structure can be made out of gemium, trilium, quadrilium, gobber, nether gobber, and end gobber blocks. You can construct it using one type of block or a mixture of all of them! As long as it contains any of the listed blocks.
Visualization of the multiblock structure -
Here, you can see what the base of the brazier structure looks like:

As shown in this screenshot, after constructing the base, you must place the brazier block in the middle to activate it. This will give you a base range of 64 blocks:

You can construct the base with any combination of the blocks I listed before like this:

Like this screenshot, if you increase the height of the structure, each level will increase the protection range by 24 blocks. This image shows 5 levels of the structure:

Here's an example of the mixture of blocks the structure can be made out of:
