Labels are general purpose tags that allow you to filter your collection in a very flexible way. A label is like the genre of a track but you can set as many labels as you want to any track, album or artist. For example you can have labels for Live Music, Female Singer, Ballad, Oldies, Favourites, 80s, ... You can have a track with all those labels.
In the library you can use the Labels list box to filter all the songs with a particular label. Labels can also be used to define playlists and filters. For instance, suppose there are songs that you don’t want to be played on Smart Mode or added randomly when the playlist is empty, if you have those options enabled. Then you can add a label to those songs, then create a dynamic playlist of the songs with that label and choose that list in the Deny filter.
From the label editor you can set a label to a Track, Artist or Album. From it you can create new labels using the + or delete it using - buttons. At the left panel you will see all elements you selected to apply the labels. You can set the labels to each element individually but if you prefer to set the same labels to all the elements you can just set the appropriate selection and then press the Copy button and all elements will get the same label selection.
