Use Shrinkwrap in PTC Creo - ami-iit/ami-commons GitHub Wiki
Prerequisites
- PTC-Creo has to be installed on your laptop;
- All the libraries containing 3D assemblies and parts of iRonCub have to be downloaded in a local folder.
Please refer to this issue and to all the issues which are linked inside for correctly managing the two requirements pointed above.
Procedure
-
If you have correctly done the previous steps, PTC-Creo starting page should look like the one in the picture below.
-
Click on Open and a navigation window will appear. Go into your local copy of element_ironcub-design/cad folder and open ironcub_aaa.asm file (this operation can take a few minutes to complete).
-
Once iRonCub model is loaded (it can be possible to see some errors/warnings because of some small components like screws which have not been loaded), you can go in View tab, select Manage View → View Manager and then select a Simplified Representation double-clicking on it (please refer to https://github.com/dic-iit/element_automatic-cad-cfd/issues/8 for creating your own Simplified Representation).
-
Now, acording to the rules of the chosen Simplified Representation, you should see a limited number of iRonCub components. If you want to create a Shrinkwrap, you have to go in File → Save As → Save a Copy. A new window will appear, select Shrinkwrap in Type and choose a Name for the new part. Click Ok.
-
The window shown in the image below will open, allowing the user to set how to get the shrinkwrap of the model. Please refer to Types_of_Shrinkwrap for a complete explanation of each type of Shrinkwrap that can be generated.
