Hue setup guide - ambilight-4-mediaportal/AtmoLight GitHub Wiki

Overview

AtmoHue is Windows application which allows you to receive color commands from AtmoLight and/or AtmoWin and forward those to your Hue Bridge.

Features

  • Receive color commands over network and forwards those to the Hue (only supported in AtmoLight at the moment)

  • Complete control of color settings and delays

  • Calibrate colors to increase color correctness depending on your Hue Light (experimental tab), it does this based on the X/Y/Z on a color map

  • Integration with Mediaportal thru AtmoLight (Recommended) or AtmoWin (Experimental)

Atmolight + AtmoHue

Step 1

Install the test version of AtmoLight located in this forum thread (attached in first post):

http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/atmohue-beta-philips-hue-support-for-atmolight-atmowin.128252/

and execute this file on the machine which runs Mediaportal.

Step 2

Select the AtmoLight plugin and press Config

Step 2

Step 3

Tick the Hue option, can keep the rest default but would change “Disable Leds between” to 0:00 and 00:00 as otherwise the lights will stay off between 08:00 and 21:00. Make sure you setup the Effect Settings correctly for Video/Music etc..

Step 3

Step 4

The default settings are fine but just in case make sure they look like this. You could input an remote IP address here if you're running AtmoHue on another machine but depending on the network (wired/wi-fi) it might add some delays.

Step 4

Step 5

On first time use click the Locate and register to bridge button, if you're using Window 8 tick the box above it as well. It should list the Bridge IP address once it has found your bridge, if not you can also input your bridge IP address manually.

The App name and key you can keep default but recommend to change that to something unique, tick the “Enable remote API” box to enable support for AtmoLight and restart AtmoHue afterwards.

Step 5

Step 6

Add the led devices you want to use and optionally you can assign a location to them.

Step 6

Step 7

Make sure AtmoHue remains running and start Mediaportal, start your media and your Hue lights should turn on :)

FAQ

Q AtmoLight refuses to connect to Atmo Hue.

A Most likely your firewall is blocking the connection or you configured the wrong IP address or port in AtmoLight (Hue tab) and/or AtmoHue (Remote control API).

Q Even with the Colors tests the lights on my Hue will not turn on.

A Make sure you completed the first registration as per Step 5 of the Atmolight setup guide, if you changed your app name or app key afterwards you need to re-register as well.
