There are two ways to install the plugin, automatically or manually.

Minimum requirements

  1. WordPress 6.3 or greater
  2. PHP 8.0 or greater

Automatic Installation

1. Log into your WordPress dashboard, which is usually located at /wp-admin.

2. Click on the "Plugins" link on the left nav menu.

3. Click the "Add New" button at the top of this screen (note that if you are running multisite, this button may only appear on the Network Admin plugins page)

4. In the search box in the upper right of the Add Plugins screen, type "Publish to Apple News".

5. The plugin should be the first result. Click the "Install Now" button to complete installation.

6. After installation is complete, click the "Activate Plugin" link to start using Publish to Apple News.

Manual Installation

  1. Download the plugin from either WordPress.org or GitHub. If downloading from GitHub, choose the latest "built" release (e.g., v2.1.0-built) and download the source code in a format of your choosing.
  2. Unzip the file after the download completes.
  3. Upload the entire folder into your WordPress plugins directory, which is usually located in wp-content/plugins.
  4. Log into your WordPress dashboard, which is usually located at /wp-admin.
  5. Click on the "Plugins" link on the left nav menu.
  6. Locate the "Publish to Apple News" plugin in the list and click the "Activate" link to start using the plugin.
